Upcoming Kentucky Derby and Oaks Prep Races

First of all let’s take a look at the current top 10 leaderboard standings in the Road to the Kentucky Derby prep races and the Road to the Kentucky Oaks prep races and then we can take a look at some of the upcoming Road to the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks races that will be taking place over the next few weeks.
El Areeb, McCraken, Mo Town, Mastery, Lookin at Lee and Gunnerva all have 10 points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby leaderboard. Uncontested currently has 11 points. Practical Joker has 14 points, Gormley has 20 points and Classic Empire is at the top of the leaderboard with 30 points.
On the Road to the Kentucky Oaks leaderboard right now, Unique Bell, Abel Tasman, Noted and Quoted, Yellow Agat, Dancing Rags and Miss Sky Warrior all have 10 points. In fourth place is Shane’s Girlfriend with 12 points. Farrel and Shane’s Girlfriend both have 20 points and at the top of the leaderboard at the time of writing is Champagne Room with 21 points.
In the 2017 Road to the Kentucky Oaks, some of the upcoming races that we can look forward to over the coming weeks include the Martha Washington at Oaklawn Park on February 11th. The winner of this event will get 10 points. The runner up will receive 4 points. Third place will receive 2 points and fourth place will receive 1 point toward the leaderboard standings.
The following races will all be awarding 50 points to the winner, 20 points to the runner up, 10 points to third place and 5 points to fourth place. We have the UAE Oaks at Meydan Racecourse on February 23rd. The Rachel Alexandra at Fair Grounds will be taking place two days later and also on February 25th we have the Busher at Aqueduct.
The next events that you can look forward to will both take place on March 4th with the Davona Dale at Gulfstream Park and also the Santa Ysabel at Santa Anita Park, then it’s the Honeybee at Oaklawn park on March 11th. Finally, in the 2017 Road to the Kentucky Derby preparatory races, some of the upcoming events that we can look forward to over the coming weeks include the Sam F. Davis at Tampa Bay Downs on February 11th (10-4-2-1).
Then it’s the El Camino Real Derby at Golden Gate Fields on February 18th (these races also have a 10-4-2-1 point structure). The following day it’s the Hyacinth at Tokyo Racecourse (50-20-10-5). On February 20th it’s the Southwest at Oaklawn Park (10-4-2-1) and then on February 25th it’s the Risen Star at Fair Grounds (50-20-10-5). On March 4th it’s the Gotham at Aqueduct and then on March 11th we have the Tampa Bay Derby at Tampa Bay Downs and the San Felipe at Santa Anita Park (all have 50-20-10-5 point structure).
