International Betting Types Explained

Accumulator – This is particular bet type is popular with punters, but in the US this is more commonly known as a ‘Parlay’. It basically means to place a bet with four or more selections, but from different events.

Each-Way Single – Each way bets consist of more than one bet, but for one selection in the same event. If you are talking horses, the first bet would be for the horse (the selection) to win the event and the second bet is for the horse to finish in any paid position. Depending on where that horse finishes will then determine the payout.

Other Each-Way bets include Each-Way Double, Each-Way Treble, Each-Way Accumulator, Each-Way Trixie, Each Way-Yankee, Each-Way Patent, Each-Way Lucky 15, Each-Way Canadian or Super Yankee, Each-Way Lucky 31, Each-Way Super Heinz, Each Way Lucky 63 and Each-Way Goliath.

Double – This bet is basically one bet that contains two different selections (in different events). To make a profit, both selections that you make need to win. A Treble is the same, but all three selections that you make must win their events.

Trixie – This bet must contain four different bets and involve three selections from different events, for example, 1 treble and 3 doubles. If you are betting with a minimum $1.00 bet, the total cost of a treble would be $4.00.

Patent – This bet is similar to a Trixie, but it consists of seven bets (three selections) from different events. If you are betting with a minimum $1.00 bet, the total cost of a treble would be $7.00.

Yankee - This bet is similar to a Patent/Trixie, but it consists of eleven bets (four selections) from different events. If you are betting with a minimum $1.00 bet, the total cost of a treble would be $11.00.

Lucky 15 - This bet is similar to a Patent/Trixie/Yankee, but it consists of fifteen bets (also four selections) from different events. If you are betting with a minimum $1.00 bet, the total cost of a treble would be $15.00.

Canadian or Super Yankee – This bet is similar to a Patent/Trixie/Yankee/Lucky 15, but it consists of 26 bets (five selections) from different events. If you are betting with a minimum $1.00 bet, the total cost of a treble would be $26.00.

Lucky 31 – This bet is similar to a Patent/Trixie/Yankee/Lucky 15/Canadian or Super Yankee, but it consists of 31 bets (five selections) from different events. If you are betting with a minimum $1.00 bet, the total cost of a treble would be $31.00.

Heinz – This bet is similar to a Patent/Trixie/Yankee/Lucky 15/Canadian or Super Yankee, but it consists of 57 bets (six selections) from different events. If you are betting with a minimum $1.00 bet, the total cost of a treble would be $57.00.

Lucky 63 – This bet is similar to a Patent/Trixie/Yankee/Lucky 15/Canadian or Super Yankee etc., but it consists of 63 bets (six selections) from different events. If you are betting with a minimum $1.00 bet, the total cost of a treble would be $63.00.

Goliath – This bet is similar to a Patent/Trixie/Yankee/Lucky 15/Canadian or Super Yankee etc., but it consists of 247 bets (eight selections) from different events. If you are betting with a minimum $1.00 bet, the total cost of a treble would be $247.00.
